✓Lacustrine
-
-
Lacustrine deposits are nicely exposed in the Ebro basin, which was endorheic during Oligocene and Miocene. Particularly well-exposed is the lacustrine Mequinensa Fm, which includes lacustrine delta sandstones, clays, silts, limestones, and coal seams.
-
The dataset includes outcrop characterizations and numerous mining wells. The lacustrine deposits are also accessible to the subsurface via a dense mining grid. Geochemical data and facies models complete some of the available teaching resources.
-
‣Primary discussions are to be focused on:
-
‣Transport and sedimentation processes responsible for the different facies
-
‣Stratigraphic subdivision and origin in terms of supply, climate, tectonics …
-
‣Origin of coal
-
‣Coal as a resource
-
‣Reservoir analogue characteristics of lacustrine deltaic sandstones
