Together with our collaborators from the University of Sassari we describe a relict species, found in three caves in Sardinia, belonging to group farly related to previous known suborder Cavernicola representatives. We establish a new family for the species.
The new species presents a peculiar amphibious life style and opens more questions on the evolution of this now extremely rare group: the planarian order Cavernicola.
