Marta Ferrer Puig
Brief summary background
Marta Ferrer began her work experience as educator in a detention centre for young offenders in 1983. She worked for 17 years in connection with the juvenile justice field, always in the Department of Justice of the public administration of Catalonia (Spain).
At present she is Head of the Department of Social and Criminological Research and Training in the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialized Training. Currently she organizes initial and further training for staff working in prisons, community sanctions, mediation, and in the juvenile justice system. She participates in projects and researches in these fields

- Graduated in Sciences of Education. University of Barcelona, 1984.
International experience
2016-to date: member of the Board of the European Confederation of Probation (CEP)
2008-2012: Member of the Board of the European Forum of Restorative Justice (EFRJ).
2006-2011: Member of the Council of Penological Cooperation (PC-CP) of the Council of Europe. Chosen for her experience in the field of juvenile justice, she participated in drafting the European recommendations in the area of criminal enforcement published during these years.
2009 and 2010: Member of the Pedagogical and Scientific Committee of the National School of the French Penitentiary Administration.
She has participated in a number of European projects funded by the European Commission, especially in the field of juvenile justice, prisons and training of correctional staff.
Teaching experience
2013 teaches the subject of Juvenile Justice in the Degree of Criminology. University Pompeu Fabra.
Several presentations in national and international congresses related, mainly, to the researches in which she participates as author.
