Confinement is a source of unique behaviors, often very different from those observed in unbounded systems. We aim to study particle transport properties through membrane and microfluidic channels and study the effects of confinement on the properties of liquids and emulsions. We analyze the influence of water on the translocation rate through channels; the influence of interactions and size exclusion in entropic transport in nanochannels; the possibility of using stochastic resonance to optimize transport in elastic nanochannels; and capillary dynamics and emulsions under confinement.
