The CAEPS is developing its research activity in three main areas:
- Globalization and the Welfare State.
- Globalization and Territorial Inequalities.
- Globalization and Health System.
The group’s main objective is to analyze some of the consequences of globalization on social inequalities and the welfare state. European integration and global product and capital markets pose new challenges to the Welfare States. The limitations in macroeconomic policies, the pressure for tax competition, competition and regulatory competition on wages and employment can affect social policy objectives of developed economies. First we deepen the analysis of the effects of globalization on regional disparities. Secondly, brought forward in the analysis of the sustainability of the welfare state using techniques of generational accounting and microsimulation. Finally, we study the effect of the globalization process and the process of European integration on the health system
