Marta is a phonetician who investigates speech perception from an interdisciplinary approach. She was invited by Professor Carles Escera to join Brainlab during Spring 2017 in order to work with him and Prof. Jordi Costa-Faidella in a project involving simultaneous EEG recordings of brainstem and cortical activity elicited by the same linguistic stimuli. Results have implications for neurophysiological research, speech processing and models of spoken word recognition.
