My research aims in understanding the state shift transitions in benthic marine systems. Particularly I am very interested in the collapses of the submerged forest ecosystems to bare rock areas.

I mix natural surveys with manipulative experiments (field and laboratory) and modelling to conceptualise collapses and other state shifts in marine ecosystems. I am also very passionate by the consequences of marine collapses to the ecosystem goods and services and their link to socio-ecological shifts.
